I have just been back to my doctor and he said that i might have an occult fracture on my arm. Does anyone know much about these because nothing showed up on the x ray and i was wondering if this was common and whats the best treatment for an occult fracture???
I agree with KC too. If there is a suspected break, an X-ray will usually show a fracture, but if the fracture is very small or the fracture line is very thin, the X-ray may appear normal. To see the previously-invisible fracture (called an occult fracture), a repeat X-ray days to weeks later may now show a fracture line because of the loss of bone along the fracture line during the healing phase of a bone fracture.
An occult fracture is suspected because of the physical signs of a fracture. Most occult fractures are visible on X-ray at 2 weeks.
Fractures usually are splinted or casted to place the injured part at-rest, avoiding movement of the fracture pieces while they are healing. If the fracture caused a deformity and the fracture pieces are out of alignment, a cast is a way of holding the pieces in-place after the Dr lines up the pieces correctly.

How does this quote demonstrate the continuation of a specific Greek philosophy/philosopher?

I don’t understand how this demonstrates any specific Greek philosophy or a philosopher. Any help or suggestions would be nice.
In general, Ancient Greece philosophy brought reason to the forefront. Aristotle was the main philosopher behind this with his logic. This means that humans relied on their reason to live and make decisions, which requires us to take in sense information from nature. For a good summation of this view of reason, one could look to Aristotle’s Law of Identity, A is A. This means that every entity possesses certain traits and characteristics and that an entity can only be that specific entity containing its specific traits. A cannot be A and not A at the same time. This might seem trivial but he was the first philosopher to introduce this. This is what Ancient Greece was founded on, reason and logic.
Wright’s quote follows the Law of Identity and reason. It means things within nature exist and that each has certain characteristics and traits. It is what it is. It can never fail you if you study it and find it out. By never failing you he most likely means that if you do not try to go against it, you will be ok. Live by it. Meaning if you want to fly off a cliff with nothing but the clothes on your back, you shouldn’t do that, because nature and its laws say that you will fall to the ground. You will die. If you follow those laws you can build an airplane instead to fly off the cliff. It reminds me of the quote: “Nature, to be commanded must be obeyed”.
This view is opposed to those who say that nature is not absolute, or that there is a flaw in reason. That nature is in fact “fooling” us, and that there is a world beyond the nature we see that may be totally different. Meaning what we see is not necessarily what it is. A is not necessarily A. There are a bunch of different formulations to the famous Law of Identity. A is A, A is not A, A is not not A….to name a few.
As a side note, Frank Lloyd Wright was a brilliant architect.
