Spirituality is a function of psychology? Is psychology then a function of neurology?
Jon M inspired issue.
Spirituality has to do with psychology and is probably a function or an epiphenomenon of the neurobiology of man. psychological models of person and the nuances are very interdependent neurobiological and therefore we can say that there is a "function" of the other, but it works in both directions. Neurochemistry affect mood and psychology, psychology and remodeling can reshape the nerve pathways. Neuropsychiatry, in part, is the study of this. (Practice spiritual is a way to reshape the nerve pathways and modify your psychology).

In modern life, we are ill-informed about mental health and illness, although we are fairly well-informed about physical health and illness. What would be a good religion or philosophy for me?
I tried for a while to find something that works for me. I believe that God can exist, but while we are alive, we will never know for sure. I do not believe in angels, demons and Satan, and I am afraid because they were written Scriptures by man. Man is, therefore, do not believe everything I read that the man writes … common sense. I do not believe in anything "save" you. I think the most important is how you treat others and yourself. I do not think life is all about materialism or the other. I do not know if I believe in past lives of the people are psychic or magical powers. Taoism interested for a while but is rather confusing and has many contridictions and Buddhism. I like a kind of spiritual self-cultivation, but some What ethics and gives tips on how to handle life, people, etc. Any ideas on something that aligns with what they already believe or maybe I could study? Thanks
Nobody can answer that question for you, really. Even within a religion, there are many different beliefs. From your description, however, it seems that you are an agnostic. He who does not know. In practice, this means for the majority of agnostics is that either do not care, or are open to ideas or philosophies.
“Some people are really showing excitement about the new millennium, that the new millennium itself will bring new happy days. I think that’s wrong. Ancient Religions – Buddha said Sky welcomes all good and pure
Gautama Buddha (560-480 BC) was a prince born in the Sakya or warrior caste, the second highest in the Hindu faith in India. His mother died when he was young and the child was introduced in luxury with servants in a palace.
When Gautama was 29 and just after the birth of her son, felt the need to go out and feel very sad to leave his family. Roamed the fertile plains of the Ganges to the hills tree of the Vindhya hills where he lived for six years.
Here Buddha practiced the usual forms of asceticism, then common holy men in India. He shaved his head and beard, wearing the yellow robe and tortured his body with long fasts and all known forms of mortification physics.
It is known as a man still pure truth seemed to escape him, until he woke up from fainting from hunger, he woke up as the light came as a flash his mind.
All fasting, law enforcement and breath control, fasting was the result of the weakening of the mind and body. To achieve the cloudless review thinking thought processes without defects, increased clarity of vision and experience pure, a person must eat a adequate and healthy living.
Buddha was excited by his discovery, but his disciples were so surprised that his master is away from the constant suffering and everything else. The following days he said to one of those moments in history.
Left Gautama was walking in the forest now Bihar and sat on the edge Nerandjara River where he was sitting under a wild fig tree. Here, a woman handed him a saucer of milk to cool.
And it is said, after go through every emotion known to mankind over the black despair to hope sublime. Gautama finally found peace and security he sought. The truth has been revealed to him and became the Buddha, the Enlightened.
The advocates will make the great ancient Hindu religion, which has caused consternation among courts to decide. The caste system which denies the Buddha found that all were born in one of five levels of caste, with the decision of the Court at the top.
Then came the caste of warriors to protect the court, then the traders that were needed for trade and wealth, skilled workers, and basically untouchable. They were caught in all their positions for life, an untouchable could never work his way into the courtyard. This is changing in modern India, finally.
Buddhism exported better in other adjacent areas, where he helped smooth all kinds to reach heaven, or Nirvana, living a pure life and leave excess. Buddha has long since passed the easternmost and belly fat eyes Southeast Asia, Japan and China today.
It seems that the feeling of emptiness is to bring the lives of young people to think rich Chinese coast Parks and authorities have so far been able to realize that this is not a threat.
People are reporting a happier and feel more calm. What happened to the West a manic wave at the time of 1960 and has been shown to reduce blood pressure and many calming effects. Good news circles worldwide and waves that can be very good news.
We will continue these discussions in other articles that Gautama Be the first to cross the wrath of Indian freedom more than a court, not the style of Nirvana is not sure untouchables were never more than a septic tank brigade.
Buddha's eight overlapping steps could become a cow or a monkey in his footsteps by reincarnation. He said a fast track that anyone can choose go to Nirvana or eternal happiness or heaven in this life if we live a pure life and learned the four basic truths.

Morality and identity based on may be to facilitate the direction you want them to go, but life experiences the study and discussion, I think, the better their efforts. I could be wrong, however.

Was not Buddhism and other Eastern philosophies to be taught in school?
In my opinion, the moral lessons are more important of all, and honestly, we have many of these lessons now. That is a high school! Why is it that these lessons are not taught in school? Not affect the freedom religion, because it is only philosophy!
With Christianity, yes. I believe that all religions should be taught in schools. But to build trust, only the objective teaching. There's big difference between preaching and conferences …. faith and knowledge. Theology and religion should be taught … do not have faith and theism. Religion is a science of social anthropology, like any historical or cultural study, and has a fair in all plans study. Religion is a powerful force in our society, worldwide, in fact, and it would be intolerant and ignorant to know the parents want their children educated in the forms of religion of the people. ==== This is an answer I gave in the past on the separation of church and state and religion in schools ——- You are saying that the government can not control religion? Why should the government intervene to rescue all his theological studies in public schools? Theology anthropology is a social science … and religion is a major driving force in our world. However, the minority of parents are atheists so afraid of bending and educate their children (not inspire confidence, but educate) the ideas of religion, to prepare their children for the real world, give them ammunition against theism … By contrast, the ignorance and the pressure parents prefer the government to intervene and force of formal education to religion in schools. Children who want or need an education religion are forced by the government, to attend church … risk that is pedagogically ineffective instill faith, has no standard classification system. Think that inadequate mixing of church and state … between religion and state. Atheism is still a faith …. address and the mixture is government policy as well. Participation NGO seems quite … say … against the government policies of non-participation. Imagine all the children are given lessons, math to science to economics … all learn to be a capitalist and productive but there is no teaching on morality or moral ideas on others, learn from other people in other societies and religions think, how to negotiate, to respect them. Ignorance is fear and intolerance later. Very sad, huh? They learn science yet to be tested, are in fact the theory (But taught as a fact) and could be wrong … (You know how schools often update day of their textbooks ?)… but no problem with that because his atheism in nature, and truth is secondary to some fact. I think that within 12 years, a student at a public school, the school should have the right to teach two weeks of theology, a formal and impartial manner. I think the government should not tolerate or demand, but must condemn or prohibit it. And parents should not complain that their children receive the spectrum of social sciences in a social world. And I ask someone disagrees with me – because you you do not have to be a theist Bigot ant with its own agenda. ==== According to one person and chatted with, lives in East Coast of the cases. He said that public school students are not allowed to bring Bibles Campus school … even for private personal leisure reading during breaks, lunch or during recess … but its hidden in their backpacks the rest of the time. Bibles listed at the level of drugs and firearms. You tell me that the laws are not sectarian and actively anti-theistic …
